The punch needle technique is used to bring the softness, warmth, fluffy feeling and texture to the products; the leather can create some attractive contrast of materials and styles. The collection is trying to find the balance which was inspired by people’s personality and our living life. There are some pairs of very different personality characteristics occur on one person with being balanced very well which makes the person more attractive. We are also seeking the balance point of our family, our school, our work, our love and other things in our lives all the time. In my design, I’m using contrastive materials, textures and styles to find balance.

Wall Decoration

The balance wall decoration art piece is expressed by the combination of 2D and 3D forms in warm tone color palette —dark brown, reddish brown, coral and yellow. The textile techniques of acid dye, fabric reactive dye, deconstruction, piecing, braiding, wrapping and layering were used to make the piece which took approximately 70 hours in total; only the wrapping part itself which is at the bottom left corner took about 25 hours. Textile works are always time consuming works. Because I want my work to bring more industrial and more modern feelings, I attached a yellow copper metal bar on the top line of the piece; attaching a metal bar which was the last step of the entire work processed outside the textile studio but Industrial Design studio.

Laser Cut

The concept of my laser cut design is inspired from structure forms of Architectures and geometric shapes of Bamboo Trivet Collection. The design can be expressed into various sizes and different materials depending on the roles it plays as; the design can be used as a wall decoration, a small coaster for a cup and a non-horizontal placemat. It can also be showed in different colours.
